rabbi 05 smallsf badge lgRabbi Joel Landau  (rabbi@adathisraelsf.org) has been the Rabbi of Adath Israel since May 2013. He was ordained by the Chief Rabbinate in Jerusalem and has served previously as a congregational Rabbi in Charleston, South Carolina and Irvine, California. A full biography of Rabbi Landau is available here.

Hopefully you recall that last year Adath Israel received a “Seed Grant” from Torah Umesorah - The National Society for Hebrew Day Schools. The purpose of the grant was to enable four yeshiva students to spend two weeks of their summer vacation studying Torah with people in San Francisco.

Well, we have been privileged to receive a second grant for this summer. Therefore, our very same “STEP Sons” shall be returning to SF for a second year.

The S.T.E.P. students will be in the Sunset from Monday July 13th – Monday July 27th. They will be available for study twice a day, in the morning and in the evening. For those who have the time, you can study with the S.T.E.P. students right after shacharit. For those for whom evenings work better, we plan to regularly daven mincha at 7:45pm followed by an hour of learning and concluding with ma’ariv at 9:00pm. If you have trouble leaving your home, the S.T.E.P. students will be happy to come to you.

In addition, the S.T.E.P. students will be available over two Shabbatot and will lead afternoon classes on a variety of topics before Mincha. They will also play a major part in our Tisha B’Av programming.

Don’t miss out on this great opportunity. In order to efficiently utilize the S.T.E.P. students’ time with us, please let me know when would be a good time for you to set up study sessions and what type of content you’d like to study.
