A full biography of Rabbi Landau is available here.

We learn in Mishlei, “Educate a child according to his path, he will not turn from that path even as he grows old,” (22:6). If you joined us this Yom Kippur, you may have heard Adath Israel Board member Alex Goldshteyn on Kol Nidre speak about the importance of investing in our children.

Today, I am asking you to join us in shaping an environment for the youngest representatives of our generation that will inspire and instill in them a strong Jewish identity and a dedication to their communities. This begins with providing meaningful programming for our children. Our goal is to start a regular Shabbat children’s program for both younger and older age groups that will not only educate our children and infuse them with an excitement to come to shul every week, but also involve families from the community who do not have an avenue to express their Jewish heritage.

We are asking everyone to make at least a $100 investment in our children’s futures. Several families who no longer line in SF have already made this pledge—if they can do it, we can too. If you do not think you can give $100, please consider breaking it into smaller donations, or consider volunteering to organize and run our children’s programs. This will help provide all the children of the community with the opportunities to learn and prepare for a lifetime of mitzvot.

Please donate now with a note earmarking the money for “children’s programs.” We need 100% participation for this campaign to be successful.

On behalf of our children, thank you for your generosity,

Rabbi Landau
